Ovako has appointed Mathias Tillman as the new President of Business Area Ovako Bright Bar in Hällefors, and a member of the group management. Anders Henström, formerly President of Business Area Bright Bar, becomes the new President of Business Area Ovako Bar Hofors-Hällefors.

Ovako has decided to invest in a new continuous casting machine at the steel mill in Smedjebacken. The initiative provides an opportunity to continue to develop the product quality and size range and is an important step in the development of the Group's customer offering.

This new investment provides Ovako with another complete line for peeling and finishing bar products, now within an expanded dimension programme. This means that the company will ensure continued growth in value-added products, particularly in the diesel injection segment.

Ovako today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the operations of BE Group in China. This accelerates Ovako’s plan to establish a service centre in China. The objective is to support Ovako’s customers in Asia with specific niche products.
