Ovako is one of the largest recyclers of steel scrap in the Nordics and is engaged in responsible business across the entire supply chain.

The base of Ovako is built on solid Nordic steel production know-how. The forerunners of Ovako were founded over 300 years ago. Manufacturing began in Hofors, followed by Boxholm and Hällefors in the 18th century, and by Smedjebacken in 1856.
