The Board of Directors of Ovako, a leading European engineering steel manufacturer, has appointed Marcus Hedblom as new President and CEO with immediate effect. He will succeed Tom Erixon, who has been appointed President and CEO at Alfa Laval, as earlier announced.

Ovako, a leading European producer of engineering steel, will have a new President and CEO as Tom Erixon has been appointed as President and CEO at Alfa Laval, a leading global provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling. The process of identifying a new CEO of Ovako is ongoing and is anticipated to be closed shortly. Tom Erixon will continue as CEO until a successor has been appointed.

The information below shows Ovako's report for the third quarter of 2015.

Ovako plans to implement a restructuring program to adapt to the current and expected future market demand. The program affects 300 employees. The annual cost saving for the entire program is estimated to be EUR 45 million, with full effect in 2018. Negotiations with local unions will start immediately.
